The Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar programs relaunched in 2021 and immediately became popular with collectors. Each coin symbolizes an important era in the development of the Nation: the Morgan Silver Dollar represents the country’s westward expansion and industrial development in the late 19th century, while the Peace Silver Dollar reflects a nation taking its place among world powers.
The United States Mint has told America's story in metal for over two centuries through Liberty and Eagles, and every finish innovation that define what a coin could be. The 250th anniversary of the Nation's founding is one of the rarest kind of milestones: a date the Mint will not see again for another quarter of a millennium.
This milestone deserves a finish equal to the occasion—one that has never before appeared on a U.S. coin. Enter the new Morgan and Peace Diamond Field Two-Coin Set. These special Diamond Field coins result from a striking process engineered specifically for the semiquincentennial and unveiled nowhere else, on no other coin, for any other anniversary. Both coins were minted at the Philadelphia Mint and together form a unique set for every serious collector!
Morgan Dollar Diamond Field Coin:
To commemorate the semiquincentennial of our Nation’s founding, this special one-year issue of the Morgan Silver Dollar bears the dates “1776 ~ 2026” and a unique Liberty Bell privy mark with the numeral “250.”
The obverse (heads) features Liberty in profile. A cap, flora, and a crown incused with the word “LIBERTY” adorn her head, while 13 stars, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “1776 ~ 2026” encircle her.
The reverse (tails) depicts an eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch, accompanied by a wreath. Reverse inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The “P” mint mark reflects the coin’s striking at the Philadelphia Mint.
