Morgan Dollar
The United States 250th Anniversary Morgan Dollar commemorates the Semiquincentennial of American independence with a masterful reinterpretation of this beloved coin design. The Morgan Dollar was designed by Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (1845 – 1925) and minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. This iconic silver dollar represented the country’s westward expansion and industrial development in the late 19th century. Blending historic artistry with contemporary symbolism, this Morgan Dollar is more than a coin—it is a tangible reflection of America’s past, present, and enduring promise for the future.
This special one-year issue of the Morgan Dollar bears the dates “1776 ~ 2026” and a unique Liberty Bell privy mark with the numeral “250.” The obverse features Liberty in profile. A cap, flora, and a crown incused with the word “LIBERTY” adorn her head, while 13 stars, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1776 ~ 2026” encircle her and anchor the design in a sweeping narrative of 250 years of independence.
The reverse depicts an eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch, accompanied by a wreath. Reverse inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
Peace Dollar
Issued in celebration of 250 years of American independence, this Semiquincentennial Peace Dollar reimagines one of the nation’s most iconic symbols of hope. Inspired by the original 1921 design by Anthony de Francisci (1887 – 1964), symbolizes the country’s coming of age as an international power, recognized the sacrifices made by its citizens in World War I, and celebrated victory and peace. Enhancements for the 250th anniversary include: The dual date “1776–2026” and the “250/Liberty Bell” privy mark anchors the design of independence. The Mint reintroduced the Peace Dollar in 2021 to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The obverse (heads) features Liberty in profile with a radiant crown. Obverse inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRVST,” and “1776-2026.”
The reverse (tails) depicts an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the inscription “PEACE.” Additional inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
The coin is encapsulated and placed in a stylish clamshell within an elegant blue presentation box. The box is adorned with the official United States Mint seal; the outer sleeve incorporates an image of the obverse coin design. This high-quality coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing an image of the obverse. This commemorative reverse proof finish Morgan Dollar – forged in lustrous 99.9% silver— stands as a lasting tribute to the enduring ideals of the United States and sure to be a collector favorite for years to come.
