2009 Sacagawea Dollar 24k Gold Plated

The beauty of this first-year-of-new design Golden Sacagawea dollar has been preserved with 24 Karat Gold Plating.

Beginning in 2000 the U.S. Mint began issuing the Sacagawea Dollar coin. minted on a golden colored coin this dollar pays tribute to the Native American heritage and contributions to the United States of America.

From 2000 to 2008 the obverse of Sacagawea Dollar featured the profile of Sacagawea with her child on the back. The reverse design featured a flying eagle.

Beginning in 2009 the reverse design features the various contributions to the development of the United States- with a new design every year.

This 2009 first year of new design featuring a Native American woman planting seeds in a field populated with corn, beans and squash is layered in 24kt gold and presented in a black gift box.
